Unexpected crashing and/or freezing up was never an issue before either. Attempts at recovery often bring me to a dark blue screen where it remains frozen. Otherwise it trie to start up by itself, overheats and won't reboot after afterwards. Only way I've been able to keep it running lately is by leaving the lid open and changing the energy settings to prevent it from powering down or going into sleep mode. As I'm unable to revert back to an earlier OSx I cannot even test that. But, my research on it indicates that aside from the fact that my problems began after Apple's High Sierra updates, completely wiping my SSD and reinstalling High Sierra has not resolved the issues. The App Store told me that my graphics card is the problem (although I still and not certain of that and it passed their tests). You mean bypassing the AMD card? It may be my last resort if the problems continue with my laptop.
